Mazamitla, TELCEL sticks, Magnum bars ......

Wednesday of Holy Week  3/27/13

Once again, no TELCEL stick in Mazamitla.  George drove me there in his Tioga, which is always ready for adventure – he doesn’t have to pack up and batten down the hatches like I’ve been doing each time I move on to a new destination during my Mexico adventure.  I need to continue to make alterations / improvements until I, too, can pick up and drive away in a moment’s notice!

George and I spent the lion’s share of the day talking, talking, talking.  We had a lovely time in Mazamitla – he ate a late lunch and we talked with several Mexicans and bought Magnum bars (best ice cream bar in Mexico) that we ate this evening. 

Also this evening during Happy Hour I met a Mexican family from Valle de Juarez who invited me, with Doug and Nancy, to go to the grandparent’s home in the pueblo next Monday for almuerzo at 2 in the afternoon.  I don’t want to miss this opportunity so, as of now, I’ll put off my departure until at least Tuesday.  Renate and I have decided to travel in tandem from here to San Miguel de Allende; but she is still quite weak after her bout with ‘food poisoning’ that started earlier this week.
