Today's the day I've planned to go to Hacienda Contreras RV park between Valle de Juarez and Mazamitla, Jalisco. In a relaxed fashion I pulled up the tent poles and drove out of Chimulco at about noon. The first solo adventure occurred when I stopped a one of my local aborrotes (kind of a convenience store, Mexican style) just down the cobblestone road from the park. I picked up some non-alcoholic beer, brand name 'Sol.' I returned to the RV and opened the side door to put the things in the refrigerator. As I had parked next to a grassy area I didn't mind taking the big step down from my RV door to the grass. well, I stepped into a hole and kind of twisted my body around so I'd land on my butt. No apparent damage, just a little embarrassed as there were several people around who witnessed my clumsiness; I picked myself up, dusted myself off and went to the drivers seat to begin the journey.
Again I thoroughly enjoyed the travel day; it took about 4 hours as I stopped again at interesting places and arrived a little outside of Valle de Juarez a little after 4pm, where I stopped to check the Church's book to see what I needed to look for to locate the park. Right across the road from where I sat is the entrance to the park!!! I was met at the office by Sal and Barb Contreras, the owners.
